Hi.
I'm using Subtitle Edit for teaching purposes and I'd like to add comments to the students' subtitles in order to point their mistakes. More specifically, I want to add a new subtitle that overlaps theirs and has a different formatting (position, color, size, etc) as to make it more visible.
Here's an example:
1
00:00:00,001 --> 00:00:01,001
Incorect subtitle
2
00:00:00,001 --> 00:00:01,001
{\an8}<font color="#ff4949"><i>You misspelled 'incorrect'</i></font>
When I load these subtitles on any video player outside of SE, it works fine.

However, SE refuses to show them in its embedded video player. I've tried changing it to VLC and MPC-HC but it didn't work. I've also reinstalled VLC. It only shows the first subtitle on the list.

How can I make it work? Is there another way to show one subtitle with two different formattings?
Thanks in advance.

I would use "Advanced Substation Alpha" (ASS) format with a separate style for your comments. As player use "mpv" (there's a button to download mpv lib in the same tab you select the player).
