  1. Is there any free, non-watermarked, very, very easy-to-use software online that I can use to supplement Windows Movie Maker by doing this one thing: overlaying pictures on top of videos? Don't bother recommending your own software that you're trying to sell: I've been down that road way too many times- Thanks.

I realize that what I'm asking for does not exist, but I figured that I might as well............

  3. Seems to be possible. Do a google search on 'overlay photo in windows movie maker'.

  4. Nope. It's not possible. If I do a Google search for "overlay photo in windows movie maker," I get instructional videos on how to stop Movie Maker, put a photo on a single still frame of the video, and then resume the video.

I'm trying to put a small photo over part of the video, so that it appears on the video while the video is still playing.

  5. OK- I did another search on PIP in Movie Maker and got this tutorial on how to do it: (PIP=Picture in Picture)

  6. You showed me a YouTube video for "Windows Movie Maker 6.0 (Vista version) done on Windows 7."

The video is 6 years-old though. Windows Movie Maker 6.0, and Windows 7 are, as far as I can tell, extinct.

I have Windows Movie Maker 2016, and am using it on my Windows 10 Chrome.

  7. Well, I might be old but not yet extinct. I still have WMN 6 on my win 7 machine. Although I now use Magic Vegas software for making videos.

And you never said what version of WMN or OS you were using in your first post.

  8. Sorry, I didn't know there was more than one version of Windows Movie Maker.

I appreciate your help. Has Microsoft stopped providing support for all versions of Windows Movie Maker?

So, I would need to uninstall Windows 10, and put in Windows 7?
And I would have to uninstall Windows Movie Maker 2016, and look for WMN 6.0?

What does Magic Vegas software cost?

It's a separate program but good old trusty Virtualdub and now Virtualdub 2 which has built-in multi video input format capabilities using the logo filter can overlay a logo (image) on a video. Donald Graft has a good one that I used on occasion when I edited videos back when. I'm not sure if you can frameserve from Vdub to Movie Maker or vice versa since I've never used it but that might be a bonus feature if it does work.

The logo filter can be found here:

It has good placement and transparency options.
