    i have d/l avi's from net which are very good quality but only in a small window then encoded to svcd with tmpge then burned to svcd with nero but always seem to loose the quality when played back larger on my pc or my dvd player. can anyone give me a start to fiinish method for getting good quality avi conversion. i normally then tape them on to vhs.

    You say that the avi is playing in a small window, try to encode them as VCD and not SVCD - that might give you a better quality (and a good VCD looks better than a bad SVCD).
