  1. For analog and digital sources. I don't think WinDV and Enosoft DV Processor have this feature.

minDV and HDV are not "capturing" anything. it's more of a direct file transfer, what's on the tape is what ends up on your computer so no i don't think it was ever possible to pause and resume. if you pause the camera the file on the computer is closed and you'd have to start up a new file if you pushed play.

  3. How about for analog sources when using a Canopus DV box?

Enosoft DV Processor has a PAUSE button under Processor section, I'll test it if it'll work.

Well it's not analog at the point of capture/transfer to the PC.

And much safer to capture/transfer complete and trim/edit after. Same applies to any capture IMO.

  6. Yes it safer but it will save time if I can do it on the fly / realtime. Like how I always copy DVDs on the fly.

  7. Enosoft DV Processor seems to able to pause and then continue capturing but I've only tested on a short few mins analog video. I'll see if it works on a 2-6 hours video.

The term "capture" was originally used for transfer of digital video data from tape to hard drive. This forum uses "capture" when it means "convert" from analog to digital.
