  1. Now, I burned some cd's. 2 vcd and 2 svcd. I used TMPG and tried MPEG1 & 2. None of them will play in my samsung dvd 611. I went to vcd help section and it says the player is compatable. It even says "video cd" player right on it as well as "DVD". I burned the dics with Nashua 80 min, 700 MB CD-R. Does anyone think a different type of cd-r will work??I have an Acer cdwriter. Or any other suggestions would be helpful.

  2. You'll soon learn (as I am currently) that it can be a number
    of things:

    1. the type of cd-r you're using
    2. the burner you're using
    3. the burning program you're using
    4. the settings and format you burn the cd with

for some reason, I havne't been able to make a vcd at home with my sony burner yet, but at work, i have no problems with my gateway
pc's burner. i haven't found the problem yet, and i've changed so many
    settings.

So, I would keep trying (on cd-rw's, too, if possible). Definitely
try on another burner. That's just my 2 cents from experience.
