  1. Was able to play a Verbatim BD-XL disc on a Panasonic DP-UB150-K. Disc size was around 78 GB. Burnt at 2x speed using ImgBurn. I didn't watch all the way through yet but flipped through the chapters without issue.

you have to watch at least the first hour or maybe even a little more to let it pass from first to second layer. that is where the problem usually is.
would be great if you can confirm it. even with more discs.

Can confirm main movie playback without issue. Forgot to mention the Verbatim BD-XL disc was M-DISC branded.

only downside to the Panasonic DP-UB150-K is that it doesn't support dolby vision.

need a player that supports everything.

That's great can you check more movies on BDXL to confirm that its not just a one time success?
    Thanks.

Great news. Can you try more as the partner tells you? Do you have bdxl other than M-DISC? A pity that this player doesn´t have dolby vision.
Someone who has the older brother DP-UB450 and can test the bdxl???, this one if it has dolby vision.

The UB150 and UB450 are both new models that came out at the same time. there is a big chance that the UB450 is supporting the same features or even have the same drive. it also supports Dolby vision and according to some reviews have the same video quality as the UB820!!! if the UB450 is working well with BDXL, its going to be the perfect player. so if someone have the UB450, Please check for us and as zizux said, we need to confirm disc other than M-DISC as those very expensive.

has to be a way around this issue.
    Hi.

I have got Panasonic UB-9000 (Japan Limited Edition). This model produced for Japan market and it can read 3 layers (100 gb) BDXL flawlessly. Soo I am going to try 4 layers (128 GB) BDXL. This player supports BDXL right out of the box.

How much did this cost? And, where did you purchase it?

I Think the Panasonic UB-9000 is out of reach for most of the members here or too expensive. the UB450 is affordable and produce the same quality so i wish someone can try and share their experience with it.

I have bought it in 2019 at Amazon. This model doesn't exports outside Japan. It means as well that all menus are in Japanese. Region code for Blu-ray is A and for DVD 2.
If you'll check ebay, there is used model for US 3 321. So, it is expensive.

Sorry I only purchased the one to test out on a Series X. The cost for the M-DISC was actually the cheapest for a single that I've found. It's currently $10.49 at B&H. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1193055-REG/verbatim_98912_bdxl_100gb_4x_m_disc.html

OK. I Haven't been able to read any BDXL disc with the UB450.
Kadu7475, can you please explain how did you created the ISO and with which software you burnt it. also which disc did you used.
the 450 and the 150 should be identical except the dolby vision part so it doesn't make sense nothing works.
    Thanks.

Yes, you click on write files/folders to disc, then click on 'Browse for a folder' and select the BDMV folder.
Click on the 'Build' (picture of a disc). You'll then get a message to say you haven't included a CERTIFICATE folder even though one exists at the same directory level as the 'BDMV' folder, select 'YES'.
It will then ask "Are you trying to build a Blu-ray video disc?", select 'YES'.
It then prompts you for a volume label, just type in what you want, it doesn't really matter what you enter, it won't effect the build.
You'll then get a confirmation window with details of what you're about to burn to disc, if you're happy that you've selected the right folders then select "OK".

N.B. I always set a low write speed (x2) to ensure the best possible burn (a 66GB file will normally take about 1hr 50m to burn) and I ensure that I don't start up any other programs on the PC while the burn is taking place, i.e. I just go away and let the burn happen, going back later to re-insert the disc to enable the verify to take place.

Yes, I have 'verified' ticked, but this makes no difference to the burn, it will just ask you to re-insert the disc you've just burned so it can verify the contents against the files on your hard drive.

    UDF 2.60

    ImgBurn version 2.5.8.0

Good luck with the burn mate!

    Hi,
You appear to be something differently to me...
If you've selected 'write files/folders to disc', it shouldn't be making any reference to an image!

Just go with UDF 2.60 (shouldn't matter between this and 2.5 when you're creating a single session, disc-at-one burn, but just to be safe), mode1/2048 (only mode possible with DVDs and BDs).

I used a Verbatim M-Disc BD-XL with ImgBurn using the Write Folders to Disc option. Was thinking of trying these next. https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-100GB-White-Inkjet-Printable/dp/B00POY826G/ref=mp_s_a_...0081526&sr=8-2.

Those discs work fine too. I´ve used them for burning 4K discs, and played them in my Oppo 203(mine is Jaibreaked).
I buy them cheapest from Japan, seems like the price is lowest there.

I am located in North America and purchased the player from a U.S. retailer. Also my PS5 fails to read the Verbatim M-DISC BD-XL disc that worked with the Panasonic player. I should receive the printable BD-XL's soon and will test between the Panasonic, Xbox Series X and PS5. Thanks.
