My brother in law gave me some VHS tapes to transfer & all of them have pretty bad head- switching noise.
They are home movies that he transferred onto VHS tapes that had previously been used for taping TV shows & movies.
I have done tapes in the past with very little noise & my question is does it happen on his tapes because of the quality of the machine he used or the condition of his tapes?
Thank you

Head-switch noise occurs during recording. It doesn't change over time.
