Sup, I finally bought the ATI AIW 7500 at a computer show in Toronto, anyways i've been capturing some videos using the AIW software. the vids came out ok, I guess my question is whats the best way to get the best video when capturing a video, should I capture at a higher setting like svcd then encode the file to vcd.
I did the "how to capture with ATI AIW" thats on this site.
http://www.vcdhelp.com/ATI_AIW_Guide.htm
I have Ulead moviestudio 6, mediastudio 6, VirtualDub and Tmpgenc. please give me your advise as to what software would give me the best VCD. 8)
Thanks

Capture with VirtualDub or AVI_IO to either the MJPEG or HUFFYUV codecs. Set the capture resolution to be your target horizontal resolution (i.e. 352 if you are making a VCD) and full vertical resolution (i.e. 480 for NTSC)
So... capturing an NTSC program which you want to make into a VCD should be done at a resolution of 352x480.
You will then of course have to re-encode (and resize + de-interlace) in TMPGEnc or similar.
While this method generally gives the "best" results it does require you to encode your captures afterwards which some people are not prepared to do. In this case, you will be better off capturing directly to MPEG-1
Read about both methods on the links below.
