I'm thinking about using a set of virtual-reality glasses/goggles as a viewfinder in bright daylight. They would need an HDMI input and be capable of displaying 720 x 1280 video.
I realize there are headworn VR cameras but I would prefer to use my Vixia G40 on a fluid-head tripod, so looking for goggles/glasses only.
Has anyone tried this or has a reason it wouldn't work?
Thank you.

Did anything ever become of this? I am curious about using a pair of goggles as a replacement for the viewfinder on my regular camera ... especially for bright sunny days.
