I just got a used Dell Optiplex 755 (Intel Core 2 Duo CPU - E8400@3.00 GHz), with XP Pro. I had computer shop install new 8GB RAM, and replace the DVD-ROM with a DVD burner. If any other info is needed, just ask. So I have finished the basics...Mikrotik router with NAT & SPI active, & software firewall, antivirus, etc. Now I am wanting to add ability to download flash and H.264 videos, then burn to DVD. I would like suggestions for the best DVD ripper, and converter. I prefer free, but payware is okay. Both ripper and the converter has to work with XP Pro, and be newbie friendly (I have never downloaded videos, converted them, nor burned a DVD before). Thanks for any advice.

This is not ripping. Ripping means (here at videohelp) to make a copy of a DVD/BD on your HDD with any copy-protection removed.

When you have your flash/h.264 videos use AVStoDVD or DVDStyler to make a video-DVD.
