Hello! My name is Rasina and I'm new to the forum, I greet and thank you all.
I would like to ask you how to add subtitles with the program "A's video converter", or alternatively try another program that uses the hardware acceleration AMD Radeon with the same quality of "A's", thanks a lot to everyone.

I do not yet know "A's video converter"; just a few general remarks:
1) If you are interested in quality in the slightest, consider not to use hardware accellerated video encoding. Most GPU's are not specifically designed to encode video with a higher complexity, searching thoroughly for useful similarities across several video frames. Software encoders for H.264/AVC like x264 will usually be superior in quality, and with a powerful CPU and some smart tuning, they might even outperform a GPU at the same time (because already transferring the video between system RAM and video RAM has its overhead). By the way, you did not even mention which target video format you want. I'm just assuming H.264/AVC because it seems to be the most common compromise.
2) Adding subtitles ... in which way? If they are available in a text based format (usually SRT, maybe ASS), you can add them after finishing your conversion with whatever converter you used, using a container specific multiplexer, depending on the container it will be wrapped in: MKV is more flexible than MP4 here. But the player needs to support them to overlay them when they are due; consumer video players may be picky here, compared to the PC, some also prefer a separate subtitle file next to the video file. The alternative is rendering the subtitles into the video stream, so they will certainly appear. Disadvantage: They will look ugly, frayed, because sharp text has all the attributes a video encoder does not like.
An alternative converter to A's may be Selur's "Hybrid", it supports the VCE command line encoder, and also supports handling of subtitles in one or another way... -
Hi LigH.de,
just ad to your comprehensive <- (I hope it is right word for perfect answer) answer, subtitles as file beside video file (not inside of container) for example start.mp4, should have same name. So we have video file start.mp4 or start.mkv so subtitle name should be exactly same start.srt or start.ass
Sorry to poking my nose in this thread.

hello, I tried Hybrid is a program a bit too brainy for my taste, my video card is a radeon rx 470 8gb that supports Dx12, recoding hardware h264 and h265, I do not see why I should not use them considering that without a program like Xmedia recode takes 2.5 hours to recode a 4.5gb video, although I have a 1920x threadripper, 32gb of ram g.skill at 4000mhz etc. One of the best programs I've tried as a quality codec owners is Xmedia recode that since last month has nvidia nvec support, on my laptop I have a geforce gtx 960m (which unfortunately only re-encodes the h264), the quality of recoding is equal to that without acceleration. To conclude I would need a software like "A's" to give me the option to add subtitles as Hybrid and Xmedia Recode; unfortunately neither of them support the rx 470 ... Thank you and I salute you.

yes, thanks, I mean: the subtitles contained in the file.mkv along with the video in h264 format, which I recode into the same content matrioska but in h265, keeping only one audio track (in my case the one in Italian) and the track of the subtitles; the forced Italian or the 1 track.
