Can any one help after i have encoded a movie from avi to mpg using TMPGEnc and burned it to cd .why does jerk slightly when played back on DVD player

I have one player that stutters sometimes and one that doesn't.
I'm learning more things as I go about what exactly to do to fix a video file mpeg, but I don't have any advice at this point.
It is easy to make a poor AVI, that may be it. Your source is bad.
