Is your source AVI or MPG?
If AVI, try this:
1. Open the file in VirtualDub( www.virtualdub.org ). Select File -> Save Wav. Enter a file name for the wave file. Your audio is now a wave file.
2. Create your Own clip . Try creating it with same parameters (Frame rate, compression, audio sampling rate) as the file you are going to join to.
3. Open this with virtualdub. Select File-> Append AVI Segment and open the READY clip.
4. Select Audio -> WAV Audio. Choose the WAV file created in step 1.
5. Save the final AVI.
WARNING: You run a risk of sync issues. You may need to add some silence at the end of the audio.
Let me know if you have any problems. -
the source is an mpg file
either way...how do i choose "append avi" in vdub? that option is greyed out -
You cannot use Append AVI after you open MPG files. This option is only for pure AVI files.
For MPG try this:
1. Demultiplex your READY Clip. TMPGEnc -> MPEG Tools -> Simple DeMultiplex. You get a M1v and Mp2 file.
2. Create your clip(only video) and encode it to M1V. Again let this have same parameters as your READY clip (Size, Framerate, Bitrate, etc).
3. Use MPEG Tools from TMPGEnc and use the Merge and Cut option to join the M1v clips.
4. Multiplex the M1v clip (created in step 3) and the original mp2 audio using MPEG Tools in TMPGEnc.
