    Hi

I am wanting to build a PC box that will sit next to my TV and stream from PLEX or even use PotPlayer for Video Playback

The aim is to handle playback for 4K 10-Bit HEVC.

I am looking at this CPU and Motherboard
    HTML Code:

Would this be good enough hardware?

    Thanks

The Pentium G4600 has Intel HD 630 graphics, which are good enough for decoding 4K 10-Bit HEVC video with Pot Player, but your motherboard lacks the proper connections for 2160p output at more than 30Hz as well as HDR support. A motherboard with HDMI 2.0a would be better for connecting the PC with a UHD TV. DisplayPort 1.2 would work for connecting a 4K monitor.

Only a small percentage of motherboards have an HDMI 2.0a port. None of them is MATX form factor. (I know this because I'm looking for a MATX board with HDMI 2.0a myself.) Motherboards with HDMI 2.0a are all either Mini-ITX or ATX. See http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=13271422&postcount=108

So, you need a different motherboard or a suitable video card. An MSI Geforce GT 1030 2G LP OC or MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GH LP OC would be good low-power consumption, low cost cards for what you want to do.

    That's awesome feedback, just perfect

I'll run the board and CPU for now, and 2/3 months down the line get a GFX card in

    Thanks
