  1. Which program?
My captures are silent and I have not been able to capture audio the past several times that I have tried. I want a program that I can hear if audio is comming through or not.
    Thanks

  2. VirtualDub lets you hear the audio while capturing but that feature often leads to dropped frames. And some people find it difficult to get set up properly (dropped frames, A/V sync problems, etc.). You could enabling audio playback while previewing to verify there is audio, then disabling audio playback just before you start to capture.

VirtualDub has a viewable audio level meter that can be enabled and sits at the bottom of the capture window. It allows you turn off audible monitoring but shows variations in levels that indicate whether or not audio is being captured. It also indicates when audio levels are too high and are clipping.

Similar capture software also has similar problems with audible audip playback during capture.
