  1. I got virtual dub and a codec from my friend which he uses all the time and has no problems. i went to use it the other day to encode a file to .avi and ever sicne then all i get this is error.
    VirtualDub Error
    Error initializing audio stream compression:
The requested conversion is not possible.

That pops up each time i hit save as avi...ive asked a few people and no one has had this problem...im beginning to wonder if it is a hardware problem or something?

ive tryed encodin the exact same file as my freind yet his works and mine i get this error...we have all the same settings to.

if anyone has ever seen this or knows what the problem is please help me out either reply here or send me a e-mail

  2. Try changing to audio. Goto Auido and put it on Full process mode. Then goto audio then Compression, Put it on PCM (uncompress). If you want to make it smaller you can use a different compression like Mpeg layer 3., But i'll use PCM just to make sure it works. Then Goto Audio then conversion, then put it on 41,000 or 48,000. 8 bit, stereo. Now click ok, and try to save the .avi. Oh yea and on the video put it on Direct stream copy)
