Hi all,
I have a DVD burner and would like to create a 'best of' DVD-R with selected clips from my DVD library. Is there any way I can rip/edit/burn just selected scenes from DVD's and then burn them to a DVD-R, without incurring the degradation of re-encoding the clips back into mpeg2?
Any suggestions welcome,
Scav

If you're on a PC, use SmartRipper to rip by chapter, if your DVD is chaptered. Re-author your ripped chapters and add a new menu.

Thanks for the suggestion!
But what if the scene I want extract is less than a full chapter? Are there any methods for doing this? -
Is there a "rip by scene" option in SmartRipper now? I'm not sure, it's been awhile since I used it. Unless you're working with a carelessly authored DVD as your source, chapters are pretty short already (anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes) ... If you want a piece of a chapter, re-encoding it shouldn't take all that long. However, there may be other options in SmartRipper or other rippers I'm no longer aware of.
