Media Player Classic for Linux

I have been using MPC-BE since i can remember, and i cant trade it for anything. Is there a way to get it to run on Linux or an Android Device. I have been using a laptop for my TV in my living room, but i'm thinking of switching to a smaller device or an Android TV box, but i cant get around to not using MPC

In wine it kinda works but no hardware acceleration. Smplayer, kodi, and vlc have pretty much all the functions but native. If there a particular feature you are in need of?

Well i use DXVA since its an old laptop (circa 2011) but mostly i have mapped key bindings to my liking and use a remote controller to communicate with it and found that it does everything i need. Like i can set sub delay with a key, i can define in milisecs how far a small medium and large time jump is, i can scroll to next subtitle and audio if needed, i have set a key to add the exact time of a frame to favorites in case i want to revisit, i can capture a screen in uncompressed quality, and moreover i generally like the interface and osd

Actually in my book that means it doesn't work. WIne is actually a ridiculous hack that completely fails with most apps, and the ones that do work often do so poorly.

It would help a lot if the OP provided some details, especially which Linux distro is used, which makes a difference.

There was some sort of a Linux fork of MPC years ago but it hasn't been maintained since 2011. And, since there is almost no backwards compatibility in Linux, it'd be useless.

This question has been asked by Linux noobs on many forums and the answer is always the same in the end. There are many good music players in Linux. Choose one.

I havent decided on a distro, but im flexible on that as soon as i get the player down. Im not looking for music player, but a video player. On my previous post, i state exactly the functions that i find unique that suited me over the years offered by mpc. In case i can get all of them, no exceptions with vlc or another player, im down for that

If you're new to Linux the only ones that are really good for beginners are Ubuntu and Mint. I use Mint but I actually recommend Ubuntu to noobs ... it has the best tech support sites, and you'll need them. There are other distros like Debian or Arch that have great support bit they're intended for experts and don't hold noob hands.

Mistyped that ... there are also many good multimedia players. I use SMplayer as my default for videos (I did in Windows too). Have VLC but rarely use it ... IMO it's perhaps the most over rated app. It's a good music player though. For music I use Audacious and Clementine.

I saw that, but you aren't going to get exactly the same thing in Linux. I've seen this sort of question in Linux forums for years. Old news. And the answer's always the same.

A lot of Linux noobs seem to think they're going to be getting a free version of WIndows. They aren't, it's different.

MPC-HC and MPC-BE have some features such as instant disc selection playback, milliseconds and video tooltip and buffer bar like YouTube, as far as known to me.
However, MPCs are open-source gladly. This makes cross-platform more realistic.
