So I have some video that have recorded at 1080/50p on my JVC camcorder that I want to encode using TMPGenc Video Mastering Works 5 and then author in Encore to Blu-ray disc.
Because Blu-ray doesn't support 1920 x 1080 50fps progressive, I'm not sure what settings to use in TMPGenc. Do I select 1920 x 1080, interlace and 25fps? Or am I better of with 1280 x 720, progressive and 50fps?

1080i50 will look better (sharper) than 720p50. I've tested that couple days ago with downscaled 3840x2160 source.

Thank for the response. In the future, am I better off just recording at 1080/50i or is 1080/50p converted to interlace not a problem at all and I'm better off with a higher quality source for future proofing?
