USB Knob for fastest Video Editing

I was looking for a faster way to do video editing (not really professional or anything) i just like making small clips of movies and tv shows as mementos. I thought of possibly getting this usb rotary knob to faster locate the start/end frames of the segments i want to trim.

Do you think it is a good idea?

Also whats the best way to edit video files losslely just copy the stream directly. I have been using the solveig application

Have 2 similar devices (1 for grading/compositing/nle, 1 for daw). If you have ever been familiar with older school equipment (tape deck or cmx editing, mixing/dj/scratch, hardware avids/protools, steenbeck), it will help immensely.

Even if you aren't used to those paradigms, it could still make your workflow more "fluid" and natural. Only those locked into mouse & keyboard would dismiss it.

For the price, it's a good deal.

Search for: Griffin Technology NA16029 PowerMate USB Multimedia Controller (Amazon description).
I believe general 'usb rotary control knob' should work too.

PowerMate is the one i show in the picture as well but i cannot find it in my country (Greece) thought maybe there was something else more Popular. I at least hope i can get something from inside Europe if i cannot get it locally

I have been using a similar product (no wheel) from this company for over ten years w/o problems.
