  1. I am having a lot of trouble converting standard mpg files to vcd compatible mpgs. I have an mpg file that plays perfectly in quicktime. I have tried many things to convert it...

•When I try to drag the file into Toast (5.1.3), it says that I cannot convert the file to VCD because and that I need to use the vcd option in my encoder/multiplexer

•I have tried using QT Pro, and when I try to export the file as a toast file, it says there is no video track.

•I have tried using VCDgear (using -mpg2mpg -toast)...This is the closest I have gotten...but when the file is done converting, it is completly corrupted; both the sound and the video skip.

What should I do to convert this file?

  2. Try: Re-multiplexing with vcd mplex function of MissingMpegTools
There is a simple de-muxer in the TOOLS section of the site.

  3. This would require extracting the audio and video tracks from the original mpeg file, right? How do I do that?

what works for me is this,

copy file to hd with astarte copy cd 2.0.3
    rename image with .mpg
run thru vcdgear mpg2mpg toast ready, fix broken blocks
when done you should have a toast ready mpg
choose vcd then burn hope that helps...bloo 8)
