    Have just got a Samsung DVD player and have noticed when I play a DVD the viewing screen is reduced quite considerably on DVD that on old player filled the full screen. Is there anything I can do to rectify this

    Go through your DVD player's menus and set the screen output to 16:9 or widescreen, whatever it's called.
