I like to encode multiple files mit NVENC on my GPU. Auto-Multi-File fails because It tries to start more than two jobs in parallel. But the GPU can only support 2 sessions in parallel. The manual multifile processing configured to 2 works, but the progress is not visible and the Rename of the output file is ignored. Is there a way to configure how many parallel jobs are started with the Auto-Multi-File function ?

Hi, I'm afraid auto multi-file uses an automatic threads assignment depending on cpu, it can't be limited for the moment.

Manual multi-file is an old approach I had discarded but I included it again to be able to limit threads. One day I hope to get the best of both worlds, I need more coding skills.

In this updated executable the rename output feature is included back for manual multi-file.

Thank you for this version . I will try it soon. Perhaps you can add a start parameter just to override the detected threads. Or set it to max. 2 threads if the codec name contains "nvenc" since.

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I think I finally found a way to keep concurrent launching processes below the selected maximum threads while showing progress info.

You can try it here (beta version): https://drive.upm.es/index.php/s/pZSgAukTKKaSFcQ/download

    Cheers

  5. Hello, just wondering if you can add the ability to save to m3u8 as an output option please? I have my own command line for converting http m3u8 MPEG 1/2 streams to h264/AAC streams using ffmpeg directly but was wanting to try your program because I have a few of them and would rather have them all batched at the same time.
Plus, can your program have the ability to restart the stream/ffmpeg if one of them craps out?
    Thank you

Hi, You can try this beta with m3u8 added to the output list in m3u8 batch tab.
You can try it yourself or send me a sample url

    https://drive.upm.es/index.php/s/pZSgAukTKKaSFcQ/download

The restart feature is beyond my knowledge and possibilities for the moment.
    Cheers

  7. Okay thanks, that seemed to have worked for 1 http url but I don't see a way to add another http url link.
Also, can your program have the ability to restart the output stream/ffmpeg if one of them craps out?

Hi, you can copy paste as many urls as you want right-clicking on the url list.
You can also paste the urls in a txt file and import them with the button Add urls from file.

Regarding restart, as I told you before, not possible for the moment

Ok, I'll try the url's in a file option because I already tried right clicking again but paste url is grayed out if I already have a URL in the list window.

Just remember you can't paste or add urls once capturing has started. I've tried version 1.6.1 and seems ok.

  15. Hello Eibol,

this app is amazing and i am using it all the time since i found it!! Well done!
But i would like to mention you something that is frustrating to me..

    1) I have .MTS video files and when i try to converse them to .MP4 via the "MP4 stream copy" option of the presets dropdown menu, it converse them and play very
well WITH audio on various players that i have BUT when i import them to Adobe
    PremierePro
    they are WITHOUT sound stream...
The same is happening when i convert them via the "264HQ+SourceAudio" option of the presets.

So i convert them via the "Convert audio tracks to AAC HQ 2 channels" preset and i compromise satisfyingly
.. all these until ver. 1.5.9..

    2) Now, i installed ver. 1.6.1 for Win10x64 and a weird problem is happening:
when i try to "Convert audio tracks to AAC HQ 2 channels" of the same files a popup message arise and says:
"FFmpeg command failed on first file:
Error selecting an encoder for stream 0:2
Try Preset for more error information"
and in Try Preset button shows some weird informations and in the end says:
"Automatic encoder selection failed for output stream #0:2.Default encoder for format mp4 (codec none) is probably disabled. etc"

Can you please give me a solution or something?
I would appresiate it a lot

    Thank you anyway

    P.S. sorry for my english

Hi, there are known issues when importing files in Adobe Premiere, it's a picky application and since it not open source, there's not much do to about it.
Anyway, why do you import the converted mp4 files, instead of the .MTS? Do you delete the .mts once converted?

  17. Thanks Eibol for the reply,

Of course i do not delete the .MTS files because those are the footage that clients(from various cameras) give to me from the beginning..

I have to convert .MTS video files because PremierePro occasionaly freezes-crashes while editing with .MTS files, and this is very VERY frustrating!
Many other people have the same issue(look at forums) but Adobe dont do anything about that.
I tried everything that various people say but nothing, so i convert them to .mp4
I have read somewhere that this issue was started to happen when Adobe stopped to cooperate with Dolby(.MTS files have Dolby sound) and now PremierePro have to 'read' .MTS files with the help of the native encoders-decoders of Windows10. Something like that but i am not very sure..

please try to fix that problem with this app

what about the 2) problem that i mention before?

    Thank you again

Hi, the presets included with the application do not have to match your input files format or tracks number. I don't actually know if there's much to do, but if you send a test .mts file I could double-check it.

    Cheers

Hi Eibol, great to see so many updates and tweaks. Is it possible to add a speed info (ex: "speed=0.976x") next to the output estimated file size and average bitrate while using sequential processing? You can pick this info right from the ffmpeg output, it helps tweaking the trascoding settings when on the field.

    Best regards,

Hi Sandros, thanks for your support.
Sure, it is an information I miss too. It will be available on next release, which will take some time to be available because I'm working on a new preset wizard
In the meantime you can use this beta. The preset wizard feature is not funcional yet, the rest is OK and with some minor bugs fixed.

You need to decompress the 2 files on your installation folder. Any question just let me know.

So, let's get started with a bug report (that actually affects 1.6.2 too):

Atm I was rewriting my config, but noticed that when I used my youtube preset at 60fps and 30fps (with a 4k30fps, 8bit, h264 source file) ffmpeg batch crashes, but ffmpeg keeps running and completes the conversion, can someone test it?
Second problem that I'm facing is that I got 3 Prores presets one after the other, if I name all of them "Prores HQ *something/nothing*" the one with nothing will get the options on the one closer or after it. But if I change the third preset with "Prores 444" for istance, no problem appears. Check yourself if I didn't explain right (sorry english is not my first language).

    Hi,
I haven't been able to reproduce first issue with a couple of 4k videos 23.976 or 29.97 fps, using ffmpeg 4.1 build and both 30/60 fps presets.

Maybe your video has something different, a sample could be useful.

Regarding second issue, maybe it's a nasty bug that I have to fix, but I haven't found enough time to do it. I hope to finally have it fixed for next release.

You can try to overcome it by always changing the beginning of the preset name, for example:

    1. Prores HQ (xxx).
    2. Prores HQ (yyy).

    Like this:

    Code:
    -c:v prores_ks -pix_fmt yuv422p10 -q:v 3 -vendor apl0 -alpha_bits 0 -vf scale=-1:1080 -c:a copy
    mov

Atm I was rewriting my config, but noticed that when I used my youtube preset at 60fps and 30fps (with a 4k30fps, 8bit, h264 source file) ffmpeg batch crashes, but ffmpeg keeps running and completes the conversion, can someone test it?
Second problem that I'm facing is that I got 3 Prores presets one after the other, if I name all of them "Prores HQ *something/nothing*" the one with nothing will get the options on the one closer or after it. 25. Hello. I was looking for a program to transcode audio files, and for my case this is the best thing yet.
However, while trying to transcode multiple files from different folders, the app would not let me start the job. There just was a warning that files may get overwritten, but the files were all with unique names, and there was no way to ignore the warning, even with a -y option in the parameter field.
Is there a way to dismiss the folder warning and continue with the transcode anyway?
I have attached screenshots of the warning.

Hi, just click on the checkmarck "Recreate source path" and it will continue.
All files will be saved to the output folder, but with their own source folder first.

Hi again, I think I solved the issue with preset names in this new version so you can name them as you like.

I also found once a random issue with 4K videos like the one you describe, program crashing and ffmpeg process working in the background.
I think this version may fix that too.

Everything fixed! Sorry if I didn't send the clip (if you still want to have it for some generic testing here it is). It used to crash only when I was transcoding 4k 8bit clips made with my gh5 to any prores preset in my list, now they are working perfectly (even if at first program start with this version it was hanging for no reason, program restart and worked every time at multiple clips/restart).

    See you soon

Hello Eibol, and first : thanks for the time you're spending on this project.

I'm quite interested in the stream multiplex tab of FFMPEG Batch, as I find it very easy to use.
    Still, I have a question :
    Name: FFmpeg Batch Converter.png

MP4/MKV are the only containers displayed here. Is there any way to select "mov" ?
If not, this is too bad, because .mov format is very flexible when working with multiple streams files. Way more than mp4, and it's a more "professional" format than mkv container.

Do you think you can add the option to use "mov" container in the Stream Multiplex tab ?
But maybe I am missing something and it's already possible : its just that i can't find it

    Thanks !
