    Hi,
I edited some AVI files in an older version of premier. If I output them as AVI it looks and plays perfectly. I need a MOV file to play on a Mac and here's the problem.
The export from Premier to Quicktime outputs grainy and washed out on best rendering quality.

I tried to convert the edited AVI file using Mpeg Streamclip, but when testing on my PC the file plays with no Video...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Are these DV files?

Sounds like a playback issue from full swing 0-255 to studio swing 16-235. Quicktime has handled it differently in different versions over the years.

Export as straight 24bit uncompressed RGB AVI, the open that AVI in QTPro and export in MOV, codec you need (usually AVC/H264 these days). Note Apple's h264 encoder isn't anywhere near as good as x264 or Adobe's (mainconcept).

MpegStreamclip is way too buggy for serious use. *ESPECIALLY* DV.
