I have a folder full of mkv files and need to remove track 1 audio from all of them. I tried doing this as a batch job in mkvtoolnix but it doesn't work. Can someone help? I'm sure I've done this before but I can't seem to figure it out. I just need that one track gone from all the files and I'd like to do it as a batch job.

Use ffmpeg, similar example is described in ffmpeg wiki https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Map

Thank you, I'll look into that. In the end I did do it in mkvtoolnix but I had to add each video to a job list one by one and then run the job. That's fine for a handful of videos but I had 28 to do.
I'm also going to try out some of the GUI applications.Last edited by tpapictures; 26th Oct 2017 at 18:05.

	Hi,
 You can try this Jmkvproperedit
It is very fast Java based program. But AFAIK it removes selected tracks, but only from header. So filesize is after this same... I think.
But it works faster than light.

Ok, so it stops the audio track from appearing but doesn't actually delete it. I'd rather just remove it. It's not something I'm going to ever use and if it saves me one or two GB then even better.

You know, I tried it and it looks great and not too difficult, but ever since MS changed to Powershell I don't feel like I know how to use the command window anymore. I don't understand why the commands have changed even to launch an EXE. I wish you could just get the regular MS-DOS command prompt again.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
