About colorization. I bet it was lots of hand work. I know man that manually colorized this fairy tale mentioned already here on youtube
They took one color and colorized only part that has this color for now we would say GOPthen take another color and again. So each frame they start with hairs then 2,3,till end, then face again and so on. So not frame by frame but object on frame by same object on next frame. It took long, but there were lots of people. So if there was 100 people then each has to do 1300 frames. 8 hrs per day, and it is very quick

as mentioned it is painstaking job

Show me such quality with autocolor.

It takes some time to assemble all the plugins required, so I will do these little tests for you.

Is there a PAL version of the script ?. (Subtle NTSC. joke - think about it)
-
I don't know, if it was worldwide common, but in early black and white television era they does simply way to get color impression. They sold transparent "foil" I hope it is right word for it. There I made an example to understand.

The green should contain more yellow, but for examle it is enough.

If you people want to speak for me it would help if you knew what you were talking about. I have said a grand total of zero times that color could be restored or recovered with any of these scripts. Stop this. I am sick of it.

So if the above posts by you are not your script then why waste our time in linking to them. In fact Post #43 now becomes so irrelevant. What exactly then does 'The script did better' mean or words to that effect ?
Would you not do a better service to the community if you just linked to your own results ? Or did you with that Jon Pertwee pic ?. A single pic is just as irrelevant. -

Well I have just put in a request to get the last 24 hours of my life back.
Your comment in the post was ambigious. You never attempted to clarify the point until today yet argued creating the impression that that was a result of your work.
TBH Your script has no relevance to this topic. Just as that post . You might wish to claim that you have been badly treated but your actions over the last day certainly make you few, if any, friends. -
You’re as loopy as your avatar. Just forget it, I’m done with this and couldn’t care less.
My plea is as follows,
Be nice. Have some manners, and try to be helpful.
Since you aren’t , don’t , and surely won’t I will give my last word on the manner. Go #*@& a duck.
Goodnight and good luck.

Now who is the pot calling the kettle black ?
Have a nice day ! -
To demonstrate I can back up what I posited, here is that original image. Note how wildly different it is from that bogus "recovery" script...

Trade jabs later, but what I said was posted, because that is what I meant. Your entire post was based on putting a lie in my mouth. I deleted my stupid post nearly immediately on doom9 because I was wrong. If there was anything misleading there it was apologized for a long time ago.
Edit: This is ridiculous. -
Yes you revised or "apologized for" your original claims for your script. Up to a point. Even at the end of the doom9 thread (which I closely followed), you still claimed and still now seem to claim that your script is "very close" to color reality. It isn't, NOT EVEN REMOTELY, and no amount of whining, juvenile snark, or backpedaling & revisionism is going to improve its inaccuracy. Call it a color randomizer, call it a luma-to-chroma synthesizer, a hue splasher, a satu-riot-er, or a tinting toy. But stop insulting true attempts at colorization (manual or automatic) or debasing artists' color sensibilities.
The "burden of proof" of your invention's proposition has always been on YOU to make good on your claims, not of us to prove it false (though we have certainly done so many times over).
Scott
One more thing. There is that phrase, "even a broken clock is correct twice a day" (paraphrasing). It being right those 2 times doesn't make it right those other 86,398 times. Nor is the clock not broken. Same holds true here. Don't promote your broken clock as some new kind of working clock.Last edited by Cornucopia; 2nd Nov 2017 at 21:03.

Hi,
don't want to fight. And you know my opinion about automatic colorization. But there is very interesting result. It was originally photographed on BW film Ilford 400 by automatic camera. The film was developed by automatic process therefore golden look, that I like. Other photography comes with different shade greenish blueish etc.
Here is the result. And I think it is amazing. But it is, I think, because sky, trees, river and stones. But this is example it really works.

So as Scott mentioned this is the result that clocks are precise.
EDIT: What the .... I decomposed the picture in Krita, dont know if is possible do same in Avisynth. But here is what I got. Is it possible??? The colorized photo seems amazing.

Is there in avisynth or in ffmpeg such function like this? See picture below
[Attachment 43619 - Click to enlarge]
Because it can help to proof if is it colorized by machine or not.
