  1. I've read all over the place that you can get about 800MB or 80min of mpeg video on an 80min CD... well the mpeg i'm currently trying to burn as a vcd is 764MB and 1:16:42 in length (352x240 NTSC MPEG1)... Well, TMPGEnc encoded it fine, and I imported it into VCDEasy to add chaptering info... exported it to a BIN/CUE... Now everything that I've tried to open the BIN/CUE in (CDRWIN, CDmage) says that it's too big to fit on an 80min CD without overburning... Am I doing something wrong??

  2. Firstly, did you actually load the NTSC VCD template in TMPGEnc (it doesn't sound like you did).

If you didn't, then there is a better than average chance that your MPEG-1 isn't actually at VCD standards...

You could try to use this on a VCD anyway as many players can accept "XVCD" (i.e., non-standard VCDs). However, you will have to remultiplex your MPEG-1 file first.

Use TMPGEnc and go to "MPEG Tools" (File --> MPEG Tools --> Simple Multiplex).

Then put in your existing MPEG-1 file. Change the setting from "Auto" to "MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard)". Save your new file (it should take a few minutes).

Then, author as you did before and it should work fine.

The next time that you encode with TMPGEnc, make sure that you acutally select the VCD template.

  3. I actually used the wizard when using TMPGEnc. It's NTSC VCD.

  4. ??

    There are some inconsistencies...

If your MPEG-1 file was really at VCD settings with TMPGEnc, it shouldn't have this problem...

Assuming that all the specs are correct, you can do the same thing I suggested before, except that when remultiplexing, use the setting "MPEG-1 Video-CD".
