This happened to me on my old rig and I'm racking my brain trying to remember how I fixed it. The problem is that during a capture, if one audio channel goes totally silent for a certain length of time, the other channel gets spread to both. Then, when the silent channel reappears, it goes back to stereo. It's happening somewhere in Windows past the device driver, because the audio meter still shows the silent channel. I'm using an Osprey 260e and AmaRecTV. I looked everywhere in the device panels and AmaRecTV but couldn't find an option for this. I dimly recall that it was a registry tweak ... ?

EDIT: Apparently, posting out of desperation jogged my memory! There is a setting in the amarectv.ini file under [Advanced] called iAudioAutoMono.231. Changing the value from 1 to 0 turned off the "feature." Hope this helps anyone else who may come across it.
