  1. when i open the TMPGEnc program and i select the video source
    it says it cannot open or file unsupported. I have already used virtualdub
    and the audio source opens fine its just the video iam having problems with.....any ideas?

  2. had this problem as well, tmpgenc appearently does not recognize all codecs, solution is simple: fire up vdub, export the audio stream, then select in tmpgenc the audio stream you just exported... you might have to use 'full processing' to simple pcm in vdub to have tmpgenc swallow the audio though...

    can you play the file in WMP w/video? It sounds to me like you just don't have the right codec for this file. the other thing you could try is to increase the priority of the directshow reader under environmental settings in TMPG, but if you're not getting video in VDub either, I think that it is the codec. try the nimo codec pack in the tools section.

  4. second time i see a reference to the directshow reader priority... could someone explain to me exactly what this setting does? override other codecs with its own filters?
