  1. My PotPlayer is working perfectly in most cases.

However, there are some videos PotPlayer would give me no sound.

I have checked the audio codes using MediaInfo, and I cannot find any difference in terms of code between those have sounds and those do not.

VLC player, WMP and Films & TV can play those videos perfectly (with sound).

I still want to use PotPlayer because I cannot use madvr in WMP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    Hi,
you can provide Mediainfo report of files, that are o.k. and that are not.
You can try to save your Potplayer settings and then initialize potplayer. If it solved your problem, so problem is in your custom configuration. Or check if correct audiotrack is played in potplayer. Audio -> select audio stream.

But first try to initialize potplayer (with back up your curent settings)

  3. Hi Bernix,

Here is an example, comparing two videos:

    With no sound:
    ID : 2
    Format : AAC
    Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
    Format profile : LC
    Codec ID : 40
    Duration : 51 min 33 s
    Bit rate mode : Variable
    Bit rate : 317 kb/s
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : Front: L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz
    Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 spf)
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Stream size : 117 MiB (6%)
    Language : English
    mdhd_Duration : 3093845

    With sound:
    ID : 2
    Format : AAC
    Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
    Format profile : LC
    Codec ID : 40
    Duration : 20 min 51 s
    Source duration : 20 min 51 s
    Bit rate mode : Variable
    Bit rate : 125 kb/s
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : Front: L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz
    Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 spf)
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Stream size : 18.6 MiB (2%)
    Source stream size : 18.6 MiB (2%)
    Language : English
    mdhd_Duration : 1251840

I haven't initialized my main PotPlayer, but I have downloaded a fresh new PotPlayer 64bit version, but it still cannot play with sound.

I have also tried MPC (HC & BE) but still no luck.

It seems that only the video players like WMP, VLC or Films & TV can play those videos with sound. (those do not have custom control for filter and decoder)

    Hi,
possibly corrupter. Try download Mkvtoolnix and remux to mkv. But I know sometimes is MP4 needed for user. Just for record.
Just open mp4 and then press start muxing. But do not very much believe it will helps. And my mediainfo on my encoded video files doesnt never report variable bitrate AAC.....

Or you can in preference - filters settings - audio decoders set aac decoder to system default instead of build in.
