In post #2, I already told you what would work best for JPG (which doesn't really support non-square ARs, so all your choices there should be square-pixelled).

I see you gave me a fue Sizes.
640x360, ~854x480, 1024x576, 1280x720, 1920x1080
Is the 640x360 for SD and 854x480 and the others for HD ?
And I have very very very Bad eyes and this is why some of what I say comes out like it did.
If this is a Prablem I can go to another Forum just tell me? -

OK I know it has bean some time now so I just wanted to check some things?
I remember you told me any .AVI Format will not use Widescreen it will use 4:3 and I get this.
But I found this .AVI Format
Audio: 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, PCM Uncompressed.
Video: 29.97 fps, 720x480, Lower field first.
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.212. OpenDML compatible.
Widescreen NTSC DV Uncompresse video files compatible with Sony Video Capture.
So I Imported all of my JPGs that I made 854x480 and put my Vioce over and Saved it to this Video Format.
When I play it it looks good but there is one Round Object in the Video that looks well a little off.
Just very very little.
But everything in the Video looks good.
So is this the only way I can save my Widescreen Video as an Un Compressed Format? -
Nobody said that.
DV uses a 720x480 frame but the 16:9 (or 4:3) picture is in the inner 704x480 portion of that frame. This is in accordance with the rec.601 specification for capturing analog video sources. That makes the full 720x480 frame about 1.82:1, not 1.78:1. To account for this when importing square pixel images: make 872x480 images and resize to 720x480. Or make an 854x480 image, resize to 704x480 and add 8 pixel thick pillarbox bars left and right to fill out the 720 pixel wide frame. Keep in mind that not all players/editors/converters handle the playback of DV with the correct aspect ratio -- they will assume the entire 720x480 frame is 16:9. So no matter what you do the video will not be displayed perfectly on every device/player.
DV is not uncompressed. -
OK I made 2. videos out of my JPGs that are 854x480.
I set the Format to
NTSC DV Widescreen .AVI and I set the Pix Aspect Ratio to 1.2121
And when I play it on my Win7 Computer it plays and looks good and everything is in good Shape.
And the other Video I used the same settings but I keep the Pix Aspect Ratio set to 1.2121
But instead of NTSC DV Widescreen .AVI I use
Uncompressed .AVI
When I play this on my Win7 Computer it looks ok but anything Round looks a little off not to bad but a little off.
Is this because without the Format NTSC DV Widescreen
There is nothing to tell the player how to Display the image?
If so I get this but this is why I keep the Pix Ratio set to 1.2121 so it knows it is Widescreen. -
DVD 720x480 16:9 pixel aspect ratio is 32:27.
DV pixel aspect ratio != DVD pixel aspect ratio -
You are torturing yourselves for no reason at all (or having fun with us, who knows)
Do not use NTSC DV or widescreen NTSC DV project properties,
And do not use NTSC DV or widescreen NTSC DV exports from Vegas.
It is old format, not enough resolution and it is interlaced, your pictures are not. -
Ok I am using Movie Studio and yes I know NTSC and NTSC DV are both Old Standards.
But NTSC is the Standard for the USA.
Now I know I can make a lot of Widescreen shape JPEGs and make a Video.
And I can Rander As .mpeg2. but if I go back to it say next Month to take a little bit out of it.
That litle bit I take out and Re Rander in another Video will not look good.
So I know it is a good thought to just keep Videos as Uncompressed.
And yes I know Uncompressed is a Big File.
So let me ask this?
If I use .mpeg2. I know this is a Compression CODEC.
But if I go into the Custom Tab for .mpeg2. can I make it keep the Video as Widescreen but have it Uncompressed? -
No need. If you are going to make changes, make them in your Movie Studio project and output a new master.
No additional quality loss. No extraneous large uncompressed video files on your drives.
