I recently purchased the DVD The Bridge on the River Kwai. The DVD says it is 168 mins long but there is only one DVD. When I open up the DVD it shows 121 mins. What am I missing here? The box came sealed with one disc.

You probably bought a bad copy from ebay or just missing the last disc,go to where you bought and ask for another one.I think, therefore i am a hamster.
The long time probably refers to the Bridge on the River Kwai (Two-Disc Collector's Edition).. you must have gtton a normal movie disk version .. or there might be a menu of extra videos accounting for the 47 minutes ... like making.. or deleted scenes..
Or yours could be a edited version to fit a 2 hour version like they use on tv

I have the UK version of the 2 disk edition. The box states the runtime of the feature as 155 minutes. Guess the lower time is due to PAL speedup.
But I just had a thought. Id your disk pressed or burnt ? You have not read that 120 minutes on the physical disk without actually playing it ?
wonder if it is one of those flipper discs. where the movie is on both sides of the disc.
