I bought two 50 disc spindles of Verbatim 8xDVD+R DL that are ink jet printable. These will not write to the second layer using imgburn. My DVD burner is in my Dell laptop and is a DU-8A5LH. Dell says I have the latest drivers etc for all my devices. What can I do?

its not a layer break error. I can see several break points to choose from when I set it up.

The first thing you try is a different break point and....

Do not write at the maximum speed for your media. You should write at no more than half-speed so that means 4x for you.

cut down to 4x write speed, different break point and a different brand disk. Writes to layer 0 with no problem but as soon as it tries to write to layer 1 it fails.

    sorry. I didn't mean to.

Thanks for the comments folks. I think my DVD burner is kaput. I tried these discs on another computer DVD burner and they worked fine.
