  1. Please can someone help!
Im not sure if this prob is related to my TV or DVD player!
When playing DVDs in widescreen I find that the border
towards the top right of my screen tilts up slightly.
If I measure the border at the right of the screen, then
at the top left there is quite a nasty difference.
I'm running a lead which has SCART that goes into TV that
splits off into S-Video and Audio L/R, but I dont think its
that coz it just displays signal.
It does this on ALL of my PAL region 2 DVDs.
I dont have an option to adjust vertical shift on my DVD
player or TV...so what can I do???

    HEEEEELP!

Thanks for anyone that offers info!
Much..MUCH appreciated as im going nuts with this.

The problem is NOT your DVD player, it is your TV. It needs to be aligned. Some TV's have built-in dot matrix patterns that are used in conjunction with correction circuitry. If your not sure how to do this, check your service manual. Your other recourse is to have a service repairman do the adjustment.

  3. Doh!
I'm going to ring the people that sold me this thing first
thing in the morning! Lovely Hitachi 32" widescreen, shame
about this niggling little problem. I never noticed it until
    I started using widescreen media.

Anyone else know whether adjusting the alignment is a hard
job????? Could I do it myself?

It's not really that hard, you just have to know how to engage the alignment pattern and where the convergence controls are for your set. Invariably they will be on the front somewhere behind a panel, since you have to be viewing the screen while you make the adjustments. My 65-inch Toshiba utilizes the remote to do the alignment after the pattern is engaged. The instruction manual, however, does not deal with this at all. You have to look at a true service manual to find this info.
