  1. Hi. I'll soon be taking delivery of a media player capable of playing H.265 files which means I've started some work using this codec. I use MeGUI which is doing the job but with a yellow warning triangle in the taskbar icon. Where do I find out what the warning is about?

So, click the little triangle to the left of this sign to expand this branch of messages, to read them.

Or look into the \logs directory of your MeGUI installation to find indented text files with the date and time of your job.

  5. Vielen dank. The only other error given was "[Warning] [16 Aug 2017 21:11:46] x265 [warning]: Source height < 720p; disabling lookahead-slices". The job completed successfully so that's all that matters.

A warning is not an error ... read it, try to understand, but it is no reason for the encode to fail (at most might be inefficient or not with optimal quality).

In this case, indeed nothing to be concerned about, it just mentions disabling an option which was enabled in the selected (or default) preset, but is technically only useful for large frame dimensions.
