Hello,
I am a total newbie to dvd ripping so I have followed the guide on this site "making a movie fit onto one disc using Tempgenc."
Everything goes ok except for one problem when I play the Vcd on my dvd player the sound is out by about 1sec, but when I play it on my PC's dvd player the sound is in sync. can anyone help me resolve this problem I am not using forcefilm on Dvd2Avi version 1.76 and I am encoding on Tempgenc version 2.53 using Field B first as the guide tells me too.
Any help Would be greatfully recieved.
Thanx.
Mark

assuming your video is not jumpy (could indicate field order problem), can you discribe the outta sync some more?
is it outta sync by the same amount throughout the movie?
or is it progressively getting outta sync?
also, why are u not using forced film? if dvd2avi's info box indicates the source video is of type FILM, progressive, then you should definitely turn on forced film. only turn force film off if the source video is NTSC, interlaced. -
k the film is out of sync by about 1 sec all the way through the film and no it is not jumpy at all.
According to the guide it said to turn off force film so could this be the problem I am having???
And why does it play ok on my Pcs dvd player???
If I am showing my nievety than many apoligies LOL
Thanx

when u use dvd2avi, do you see an info window pop up? in that window, it tells you what type of video the dvd has...can you tell me if it's FILM (progressive) or NTSC (interlaced)?

hrm..ok..if it's PAL, then forced film should be turned off...so that's not the prob..
ok, in dvd2avi..look in the preview info box (f5) and post what the fps is... -
hrm...i think the fps looks about right...i dunno what to say...it's prolly not the way u encoded it since the audio ISN'T outta sync on your comp...
could be your dvd player (perhaps it has trouble reading the cd-r's u're using)
check the dvd players section on vcdhelp.com to look for more info about your dvd player
