    tryna convert and .mdt file to .mov or a format I can edit in FCP with. Without losing any quality from the video. Ay suggestions on what programs. e been searching the net for weeks. Thanx, in advance

    What is the source? From what I'm finding, .mdt files are the result of a camera recording failure (ie: output should be mov, but there is a failure and the resulting file is mdt). In which case, it appears you need to use the recovery software and save the restored file. Which leads me to believe the '.mdt file" is a temp file and when properly saved by the camera becomes a proper mov file.
