  1. I am using Leawo Professional Media and when I convert MKV to Mp4 it works fine, but I have noticed that the video is brighter than the original MKV file. While it looks ok, I would much rather have the video remain the same. I know that MP4 is lower quality than MKV, but how do I fix it to look at least similar to MKV? I am not the best video converter out there, so I would appreciate some help. I'll post my settings within Leawo below. Thank you.

Video: Normal (I have converted with the Best setting and have seen no change)
    Video Codec: MPEG4
    Resolution: Original
    Bit Rate (KBPS): Smart Match
    Frame Rate: Original
    Aspect Ratio: Original

    Audio: Normal
    Audio Codec: AAC
    Bit Rate: 128
    Sample Rate (Hz): 44100
    Channel: Stereo

Basically my settings are all default. I have not played around with the settings to see if I see a difference, but I am not so sure I would find a difference.

    Thank you for your help.

MP4 and MKV are just containers. No difference in quality. Think of them as "boxes" that hold video and audio and other streams. If you take out of one box and put into another box, there is no quality loss. You're re-encoding with leawo, so there is quality loss and it's going to be much slower to process as well

Use mkv2mp4 or box4 to re-wrap (not re-encode) the video

  3. Thank you very much for the reply. I am downloading the file as I type this. I will try it out and reply with my findings. I am looking forward to using this program.

  4. WOW! Tremendous! Looks exactly like the MKV without the extreme lighting when I used Leawo. To think, I paid money for a bad, expensive software and could have done it for free with this program.
