DVD burning ?

I bought a A04 about 2wks ago and have not been able to burn a single DVD-R/RW yet. I captured a movie off the Sat with my DVC-II using the dvd templet, I then loaded the dvd mpeg2 clip to the Sonic myDVD program. I just wanted to burn it to see if it would work, it starts to write to the disc but after a short time the A04 stops writing. I have tried a DVD-RW and 3 DVD-R's with the same results, I have no idea what it could be. Any help to fix this problem would be most appreciated.

My system:
1.2 athlon
Abit KT7A-raid MB
768mb ram
XP pro
3ea 80gig WD hdd (0ne dedicated to capturing)

I had the same problem when I got my drive. Nero wouldn't even see the drive. I looked on the internet and may other people had the same problem. The only solution that worked for everyone was to do a fresh install of XP Pro. Yes it sucks having to start all over but it works.
