Got a strange problem with file using Avidemux. (mediainfo screenshot attached)
File appears to play normally on Vid Player in its format which on Mediainfo says its 352*576 (4:3), but when opening file in Avidemux looks weird (see other screenshot), instead of more or less square view like 4:3, as can be seen its very narrow and looks out of proportion,
Never had such prob before with any file.
Anyway edited it and saved but it was saved in that narrow format when playing back on player
Very weird, as I said on original file looks normal in player (MPC)
But just noticed on Mediainfo its 352*576 which could be that narrow view I guess and maybe it should be 576*352 so perhaps original format was wrong, But then again as I said plays perfectly normal in MPC Player.
Im baffled anyone know the answer and how to maybe get it to appear normal in Avidemux as it does in player?

The video has a frame size of 352x576 but is flagged as 4:3 display aspect ratio. This is a common "PAL half D1" format. At playback the media player sees the flag and adjust the size accordingly. AviDemux is showing you the video at the actual frame size, not adjusted for the DAR. It always does this. The point is to show you the video pixel-for-pixel.

so is there any way to save the file so it will appear normal in player, at the moment after saving it appears in that other ratio which makes it pretty unwatchable

You can resize it to a 4:3 frame size and encode as square pixel. Or leave the frame as it is and flag the video as 4:3 DAR or 24:11 SAR, just like the source. The former is safest (some players may not obey DAR/SAR flags with some codecs or containers).
