Mitsubishi HS-U430. I tried cleaning cleaning the heads twice but still no picture.
After watching 12voltvids youtube video, I think I may have a tracing problem. Time to learn how to use the 100MHz oscilloscope I recently purchased.

Simple thing to try, make sure the edges of the tape are not creased or damaged, clean the stationary head on the right,
 which contains the control track.

If picture not restored, with the power off and device unplugged you can reseat both ends of the thin ribbon cable coming out
 of that head

Thanks davexnet. Cleaning the stationary head on the right, which contains the control track, fixed the problem.
