  1. Hi I am new to the thread, I did see posts from 2011 but it seems that CBT has upgraded their links to include wild characters. Can anybody please help to provide new information on how I can download the videos in cbt nuggets? I do not know if they still use .flv or another video forma

    Thanks all,

They are likely using at least one type of DRM. Especially for content for which you have to pay to access.

In any event, there is a whole list of tools for downloading streams. Maybe one will work, or as a last resort, you could use the screen capture method.

    Hi,

Could you point me to the other downloading tools I could use? I tried IDM but it seems it's not showing up when I play the video.

    Thank you very much.

I provided an entire list of tools to capture streaming media in the link above.

In regards to IDM (or any other download manager), it would need your login credentials to access the file. Download managers simply capture a url or link to a file and then connect to the site and download the file. On protected sites, they need the access information (ie: username and password). Not all sites allow download managers to access files. And even if you get the actual file, doesn't mean that it will actually play. For reference, some versions of DRM key your username and/or password to the file and they contact the site to ensure they are valid. So the files work until your account expires.
