Sound went to la-la-land & Restore settings doesnt work

For the past month I have had to turn on my receiver at full volume as the player for some reason seems to muffle the sound. Tried various settings and read others forums, nothing helped. The exported settings to reg file and reset. Seems to be even worse than before, none of the settings seems restored, guess I have to painstakingly re-enter all of them now...what's the deal with that..I have both .reg files and installed both.

Please help I really dont want to go back to PotPlayer which sounds normal at 60% sound.

I switched from PP to HTC mainly because I was going mad constantly accidentally changing settings when I hit keys thinking I was on my other computer (I have a BT keyboard I use to switch between the three)

Looks like I mustve hit some keyboard shortcut but I didnt mind doing a reset - but it did not help at all.

I did do a Normalize/Vol boost to 400% looks like it helps a bit but now there's too much bass

Have you verified the Windows audio volume settings?
