I'm about to buy a Sony DVCAM DSR-20MDP that records 40 min on a DV-cassette. My purpose is to use it for transferring DV-tapes from different DV-cameras to a HDD using Scenalyzer or some other capturing software.
Can anybody tell if the DSR-20MDP will fully play (not record) full 60 min. tapes recorded on a DV-camera or if it stops after 40 minutes?
Best Regards
Sven

It's not a question of stopping after 40 minutes, it's that DVCAM runs the tape faster than standard DV speeds providing a wider, more stable magnetic path.
While most DVCAM decks I've encountered can play standard DV recorded at SP speeds, there is no indication in the manual this medical model can.Last edited by smrpix; 25th Jun 2017 at 21:05.
