I have been copying vcds to cd-r and they have been playing okay on my dvd player that definatley supports vcds. However, sometimes when I make these copies, they don't play although they are apparently burnign something on the disk. what is the problem and can you please help me? If it helps, I am making copies of copies.

    Thanks,

  3. Generally, there should be no problem copying a VCD to another CDR, assuming your drive supports disc at once mode. Problems like this are usually in my experience due to either a) burning at too high a speed, in which case step down a little, or b) bad media, in which case try branded discs. Unbranded cheapies work fine on my machine, but not on a few of my friends, so I need to use branded discs for copies for them. I also need to burn at 8x or slower for their players to read them all of the time rather than just when they feel like it :-)

I have been using imation 700mb 80min. cd-r. Since the question, I have slowed the speed down to 8x, and It seems to be working okay now. However, what is the problem when I encounter errors while reading the cd? Sometimes it aborts on its own, and sometimes it trries to continue. But I am wondering what these errors are, and how I can get them out of there! I noticed that most of the time the time the errors occur correspond with the messed up lttle glitches in the video. What can I do about it?

    Peace,
