I really have to see these tags for an mkv file integrated with windows explorer:
Genre
Year
Ratings
I need these tags to behave in a way so that when I use the "Group by" feature of windows explorer and select say Genre, the tags get read and the files get sorted accordingly.
Can the Rating tag be manipulated to behave like when we rate an mp4 video on a scale of 1 to 5 in windows explorer, by making the string say something like "5 Stars" like it does when mp4 files are grouped by their ratings?
What would be the correct format/syntax for such an xml file?
Will embedding it to the mkv file be the end of it?

Does that apply to MKV though?
If not, maybe this will help. https://www.videohelp.com/software/Icaros -

I've known about Icaros for a long time.
I used the attached xml file as an attempt to tag an mkv file with no luck
Only the last Genre is being displayed as the Genre in VLC, nothing in explorer
The Date is being displayed only as YYYY (which is fine with me) in VLC, nothing in explorer
Don't have the slightest about Ratings
Is there no way to make windows utilize/display information about mkv files beyond Title, Length, Frame width, Frame Height, Video tracks, Audio tracks, Contains chapters, Total bitrate, Frame rate? -

Using K-Lite Codec Pack can make windows display all the attributes listed earlier (Frame width, Frame height etc.)
"if you could change explorer to view mkv as a video type you could use all the attributes." That's not true.
