Is there any program to find what camera shot some downloaded footage. Here is the media info. is there any program like media info to tell what camera or even the sensor size

if it's the original file from the camera it's possible there is exif data. but if it's downloaded from anywhere like youtube facebook etc. no. there are free exif data viewers you can get and use.

That is not the original file from the camera. It was re-encoded by x264. Any exif data from the original file is probably gone.

Thanks. i have an exif viewer for photos but it does not work for video. What does writing library mean in media info? The codec used to write?

as you found out not all cameras add exif data. you could try a hex editor to look inside the file to see if there's other hidden data. usually at the beginning or end of the file.

If you suspect a particular camera you can compare its characteristics, such as its fixed-pattern noise, against the video in question - if the video isn't too heavily compressed.

BTW, since modern printers add hidden steganographic codes, I wouldn't be surprised if cameras did too.

It exists so the Secret Service can determine if your printer was used to make counterfeit bills -- after you have been caught using them. Using counterfeit bills isn't a crime if you don't know the bills are counterfeit. Showing that your printer printed the bills makes it much harder for you to claim ignorance.

Blythe and Fridrich also have worked on SDC* in 2004 for a digital camera that would use lossless watermarking to embed a biometric identifier together with a cryptographic hash.

* note SDC = "Secure Digital Camera", meaning it is traceable & auditable; not to be confused with the similarly-named "Secure Digital" (SD) memory cards.

MediaInfo occasionally misses things. Try FFprobe (from the FFmpeg suite) and ExifTool.
