  1. hi. i'm trying to create an svcd of one of my dvd movies, using DVD2SVCD. using the guide from doom9, everything seems to work ok- the mpeg and sound came out fine, subtitles are created, the image loaded up in daemon tools seems to work great. however...

every burning program i've tried produces an unreadable disc. I've tried CDRWIN- which i understand has problems with cracked versions, but i think mine was a serial. i've tried fireburner, which seemed to burn ok, i've tried blindwrite, i've tried cdrdao. what happens is they all seem to burn without reporting any problems, if i burn from the cue file, but when i try to open them afterwards, in explorer the disc is reported as unreadable...windvd, powerdvd, microdvd, i-o vcdplayer, and windows media will not play the cds. neither will my friends standalone player.

i thought the cue file may have been the problem...but everything seemed ok, it was pointed to the right path.

interestingly enough, i tried to burn some images i had of a game of mine...there were 2 cds, both were cue/bins...both were also unreadable. this was tried with cdrdao i think so i doubt the cdrwin crack thing was an issue.

could it be that my computer just doesnt like cue files? i dont want to lose the chapter information you get with cues...but im thinking there might not be another solution other than to burn from the bin directly or convert to iso or something.

post with anymore information you might need about my setup...i've looked around the forum and other people seem to have this problem too but it is fixed simply by choosing another burner...which didn't help me

    thanks,
    ryan

p.s my dvd player is a region free toshiba SD-M1502, my cdr is a mitsumi 4802TE. i've been burning pretty much with default options or what doom9s guide suggests. which includes "max speed burning"..which could be a problem now that i think about it. burning was tried on memorex black 80min, PNY silver/green 80min, and TDK silver 74min. all coasters.

try mounting the image with daemon tools(in tools section on this site), and then use the cd copy option on any writing program--that should work just fine.
also, you can check to make sure the image is ok after mounting--it will create the CD as a virtual drive which is available to all of windows--so you can check it with windvd or something like it. hope that helps
