Since somewhere around 2010, Funai has been the only company still making DVD recorders for the US market. If you want a DVD recorder not made by Funai, you will need to look at the used market.

As far as "LOW RES INPUT" goes, there are no "DVD recorders" made for the US market which allow timed recording from a satellite receiver or cable box to optical media using a HD video connection as input, never have been, and never will be.

There are ways to record over-the-air HDTV programming in its original resolution. There are also ways to record HDMI out from a cable box or satellite box in its original resolution. ...but in both cases, recordings are stored a hard drive or maybe a USB stick. No solution currently exists for the US which allows recording HD programming in HD directly to optical media.

I doubt it. More likely it would accept HD input but downscale to SD before recording onto disc. And if it did record HD video on DVD it could only fit about 20 minutes on a disc at decent quality, maybe an hour at crap quality. And no DVD player would be able to play the resulting disc, only some Blu-ray players.

The only high-definition video recorders from Chinese companies that I've seen record to a USB hard drive or maybe a USB stick. They don't have a built-in optical media burner, and it isn't possible to attach one to them via USB and use it.

It is possible to transfer the high-definition recordings made by these devices to a PC, convert them to AVCHD format or authored Blu-ray using appropriate software, and burn them to disc, but that isn't what you asked for.
