I recently received Blu Rays from the UK as a gift (Gurren Lagann, I am so hyped), but they won't play on my PS4 OR my sony BDP BX57. I've read stuff about a magic remote, but it's been sort of unclear.
1. How can I go about making my system region free?
2. Would decrypting the blu rays manually be quicker, and if so, what is a safe, reliable, and free way of doing that?
All of this is foreign to me, so I'll need a guide for idiots, I'm afraid.

Players made by Sony are the most difficult to make region free.
Even if there is a hack it'll only be for the dvd side of the player.
